How Do I Get a ZIMRA Tax Clearance Certificate for Tenders?

A ZIMRA tax clearance certificate (ITF263) is mandatory for participating in government tenders and procurement contracts in Zimbabwe.

Step 1 — Register for tax. Before applying, your company must be registered for tax with ZIMRA and have a valid taxpayer identification number (TIN) and business partner (BP) number.

Step 2 — File all outstanding returns. ZIMRA will only issue a clearance certificate if your tax returns are up to date and any outstanding liabilities are settled or covered by an agreement.

Step 3 — Apply for the certificate. Submit your application through the ZIMRA e-services portal to obtain the ITF263 certificate, which confirms your business is tax-compliant.

Why it matters. Without a valid clearance certificate, companies are excluded from tenders, procurement contracts and supplier listings, and may face penalties. Maltech-Africa assists with tax registration, return submissions and clearance applications.
